Scholarship Endowment Fund

Our development efforts remain ongoing. In order to continue funding our current program of awarding two scholarships, $500 each, in the following categories: cattle, games, halter, hunter, ranch, showmanship, trail, and western events in perpetuity, our endowment fund must reach $200,000 factoring a conservative 4% annual return on investments. As funds allow, the board of directors will be tasked with program expansion and continued development to ensure the Appaloosa remains The Breed of Choice.

Smile Like Steve - Memorial Scholarship and Endowment Fund

In late August 2024, the Appaloosa Horse Club and community lost a great friend, supporter, youth enthusiast, and ambassador for the breed, Steve Bennett.


Steve would often quote Winston Churchill - "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man." Anytime you saw him, he greeted you with a smile. Steve was always willing to help in any way he could.


Friends of Steve invite you to help continue Steve's legacy of helping in any way he could and promoting his love of the Appaloosa horse by donating to this youth scholarship in his memory. One youth member will be selected at random each year at the Youth World Championship Show to receive a $250 scholarship to help them Smile Like Steve!
