The Butch McGlothlin Memorial Scholarship
Butch McGlothlin was a kindhearted man with a contagious smile and an unforgettable sense of humor — truly a “character” who could make anyone laugh until they cried. He had a gift for finding the good in every situation and a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Known for his infectious laugh, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand, Butch left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Those who stopped by his inspection station were sure to receive quick service, a good story, and often a hearty laugh.
His dedication to the Appaloosa Horse Club took him across the country and around the world, from Canada to Europe, where he proudly promoted the Appaloosa breed and built lifelong friendships.
To honor his memory and his unwavering commitment to the Appaloosa community, the Butch McGlothlin Memorial Scholarship was established. This scholarship supports youth members who share Butch’s passion for horses, community, and kindness.
Our goal is to raise $6,500 to secure this scholarship in perpetuity — ensuring Butch’s legacy of laughter, generosity, and love for the Appaloosa breed continues to inspire generations to come.
Help us honor Butch’s memory by contributing today and keeping his spirit alive through opportunity and education.

Smile Like Steve Endowment
Friends of the late Steve Bennett came together to honor his memory by establishing a $250 annual scholarship, awarded each year beginning in 2025 to one deserving Youth ApHC member. This scholarship celebrates Steve’s legacy of kindness, mentorship, and dedication to the Appaloosa community.
