Youth World Championship Show
The 2024 Youth World Championship marked the inauguration of this grass roots program to support the ApHC youth. Starting with the 2024 Youth World Championship show, two scholarships will be awarded by a random draw of all pre-entries in the following categories:
- Cattle
- Games
- Halter
- Hunter
- Ranch
- Showmanship
- Trail
- Western
16 total scholarships will be awarded at $500 each totaling an annual investment in youth members of $8,000. Fundraising efforts will continue to provide additional scholarships to incentivize youth participation at future world and regional shows and subsequently build our Appaloosa Community. As funds allow, the scholarship program will be expanded to support additional year end scholarships for those youth who may not have the opportunity to participate with their Appaloosa at the world level.
Eligibility

the current year. Youth must pre-enter and exhibit in at least one class at the Youth World Championship Show. Entries received after the pre-entry deadline will not be eligible. Each class will serve as an entry into the respective scholarship category (i.e. a youth exhibitor entering one showmanship class and one gaming class would receive
one entry into each categoriesโ drawing, an exhibitor entering in three hunter classes will receive equal number of entries in the hunter category).

Smile Like Steve

In late August 2024, the Appaloosa Horse Club and community lost a great friend, supporter, youth enthusiast, and ambassador for the breed, Steve Bennett.
Steve would often quote Winston Churchill – “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” Anytime you saw him, he greeted you with a smile. Steve was always willing to help in any way he could.
Friends of Steve have come together and are proud to announce that Steve’s legacy of helping in any way he could and promoting his love of the Appaloosa horse will continue every future Appaloosa Youth World Show by awarding a $250.00 scholarship to one lucky member.
Eligibility
All youth having pre-entered into the current year’s Youth World Championship Show will receive one entry, regardless of the number of classes entered, into the annual random draw for the Smile Like Steve Scholarship.
General Rules
All general rules of the Youth World Championship Show Scholarships shall apply.
